Why Did You Decide to Become an Oral Surgeon?

When Dr. Hwang was young, he used to work on cars. He loved working with his hands and wanted to be able to do something that allowed him to do that, but also help others. That’s how he landed on becoming an oral and maxillofacial surgeon!

Where Did You Study Dentistry?

Dr. Hwang attended the University of Washington School of Dentistry, where he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery in 2020. He then attended Oregon Health of Science University, where he earned his Doctor of Medicine in 2022, followed by an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgical residency in 2026. He is an active member of several professional organizations, including the American Dental Association, Oregon Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, and American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons.

Outside of the Dental Office, What Do You Like to Do?
